Fine Arts - Painting

Murals

Having moved my art from apartment to apartment throughout my 20s, I have been grateful that the only time I work large-scale is when the artwork is permanent.  I have had the opportunity to create murals for school events, bedroom walls, and camps, and love the entire process. Pricing for indoor murals: $30 per square foot, with a minimum of 10 square feet.  An interior wall of more than 100 square feet reduces price to $25 per square foot.  A $30 deposit is required before your design will be drafted on paper.  Pricing for outdoor murals: $40 per square foot with a minimum of 20 square feet.  An exterior wall or window of more than 100 square feet reduces price to $35 per square foot.  A $40 deposit is required before your design will be drafted on paper. Copyrighted characters (Disney, Dreamworks, Cartoon Network, etc.) and images will not be rendered unless you acquire a license for their use.  Contact us for more details or to book a mural.

Projects & Shows

Intricacies are my specialty; the fold of a blanket, the veins and lines in an old woman’s hand, the way light hits a crystal glass, or the way a social construct looks under a critical lens.  I prefer to work in aqueous paint, drawing media, or collage because I like that the process cannot be reversed as soon as it has been put down on paper or canvas.  It is as permanent as everything else in my past and its permanence creates a structure on which to create new possibilities.  To book a show or to purchase or commission art, please contact us.

Out of Order

Red River Theatres will host an exhibition for the month of May entitled Out of Order, a painting project exploring gender and gender expression by local artist Cheri Haire. Out of Order contains 24 pieces of family-friendly artwork exploring gender, gender expression, and the societal issues facing members of the LGBTQ community who do not conform to the gender binary.  The project uses brightly colored acrylic paint on Masonite, wood, and canvas to tell a rainbow-colored story of emotions, innovations, and realities that breaks down the mainstream gender narrative.  Out of Order appears at Red River Theatres the month before the second annual Pride Concord celebration on June 2. Red River Theatres is a state of the art 3-screen, 8,500 square foot Arthouse cinema in the lower level of Capital Commons, at 11 S. Main Street in downtown Concord. The facility is ADA accessible.  The small art gallery offers local artists the opportunity to exhibit and sell their work on a monthly basis. There will be an artist reception at Red River Theatres in Concord on Thursday, May 3 from 6 to 8 p.m.  The exhibition will be open to the public during Red River Theatres open hours; see www.redrivertheatres.org for hours and more information about the venue.
